There is a woman that I am doing some work for that drives pretty much everyone in her life completely crazy. She is a know-it-all that really knows nothing at all. Her husband owns a construction company here locally that has been his family’s business for over 100 years. Now that he is running it, his wife has decided to get involved and is driving everyone crazy. All of which is nothing out of the ordinary, but the part that I have a problem with is that when I met her, she told me her whole name (first, middle and last), and when I called her by just her first name, she corrected me and very quickly let me know that she had TWO first names and would prefer it if I used both of them when addressing her. I am not going to type them in this post, because I do not want her finding it, but lets pretend her full name is something like Jan Stockard Jones, and her middle name (or second first name) sounds like a last name or a maiden name, but she insists it is a second first name and wants to be called Jan-Stockard every time you refer to her. Who the eff does that? I mean seriously.
If my mom told me that I did not have a middle name and that instead, I had two first names, Misty and Renee - I would NOT expect people to call me Misty Renee every time they addressed me, in fact I would probably NEVER even bring that up in conversation and would just tell people my name is Misty - period. It is so weird to me, that I will go out of my way with this woman to NEVER have to say her name at all in conversations. I will catch myself when she calls - “Hello”—- “Oh hi there (oops, almost said just her first first name only, but I caught myself), how are you?” - I refuse to say it now that she acted like an ass about it. My co-worker said that I cannot be like that - watch me! See if I ever say that woman’s name again. I just wonder if she makes her kids call her “Mom Mommy.” - HA!
