Weekly Roundup 07/17/05-07/23/05

Man, what an uneventful week!  Me-work, Kids-daycare - that’s it.  I did get a pedicure this weekend, which believe me, was much needed.  Todd took the kids to his Mom’s house on Saturday, so they got to swim in the pool and wear themselves out - and I got to enjoy a day at home with no noise!  Of course, I did have to do my housework, but I don’t mind doing it as much when I can go at my own pace, and don’t have (2) small children at my heels while I am doing it.

Oh yeah, I registered for school.  Ashton is finally at a point that he can be handled by one person, so I am going back to school.  So I registered for a web design class.  This is something I have been tinkering and self-teaching myself since Ashton was born and I started my family website - it is high time I learn the correct way of doing things instead of the “Misty Way.”  Since then, I have gotten better with my site and done a couple for some friends and family.  Here are a couple I have done:

Nadine’s Candle Shoppe (My best friend’s candle site)
Plague the Suffering (Hubby’s best friend’s metal band site)
Brevard H2O (My sister’s college soccer team’s reunion site)

That’s it for this week.

On the Calendar for Next Week:
07/25/05 - Ethan’s Birthday
07/28/05 - Lunatic Luau
07/30/05 - Dena’s Candle Party

Photo Request Weekend

Well, I have totally been neglecting my beautiful Nikon D70 Digital camera (after I raved to MommaK about it and told her she must get one).  So, as she did on her site and others have done on their sites, I will on mine - I will take photo requests this weekend.  Leave me a comment and tell me what you wanna see.  Please no crazy requests.  I will post them periodically throughout the weekend.  Check back to see your requests.

REQUEST NO. 1
From: Mouthy Mom
Requested: Inside of Fridge

Here is my fridge, beautifully decorated in “Kaiden Art”

Here is the inside of my fridge.  It is a bit bare, because we are due for a grocery store run.  But we always have plenty of milk, go-gurt and regular yogurt.  Plus some quick microwaveable bacon - a must have!

REQUEST NO. 2
From: Chatty
Requested: View from your living room window…

We live in a very long, narrow house.  Our living room is in the back of the house, so our main view is out the back sliding glass door.  Our back yard is not “cleared” and beyond our land are protected wetlands.  We don’t need much of a yard, because we live at the beach, plus there is a nice park at the end of our street.  The wooded lot keeps things private for us, since the beach gets so busy in the summer.

REQUEST NO. 3
From: MommaK
Requested: Where I Blog & Something Beachy

You can find me blogging from my laptop, usually at our bar-style countertop, where I can swivel right around and watch T.V.

As for something beachy…I give you my children, who just came home from down at the beach with daddy.  One is passed out and our other (the non-sleeping one) of course is ready for more action.

REQUEST NO. 4
From: Mayberry
Requested: View from my front door & Self-timer shot

This is the view from my front door.  Our street is a great mix of new and old houses, which I love!  I am also showing you the view of my house from my neighbors.

Self-timer shot - My little Kaiden, still looking lovely from the beach…

REQUEST NO. 5
From: TJ
Requested: Bathroom Counter

Here is my downstairs bathroom counter.

Here is my upstairs guest/kids bathroom counter.

Here is my master bathroom counter.

REQUEST NO. 6
From: Dawn
Requested: My favorite purse and what’s inside it.

I had done this a while back, and sadley, nothing has changed, so I will just re-post those pictures.

Aloha Friday - 07/22/05

Aloha Friday is brought to you by the letter A and by Snarky!

How often do you clean your house?
I clean my house every weekend.  I am extremly anal about how clean my house is.  So anal that I sometimes feel guilty (as does my cleaning partner in grime Nadine) because I constantly clean behind my kids messes, instead of just letting them be kids!  But I mop floors, vacuum, clean all bathrooms, dust, do laundry, etc every weekend.  I change sheets every other weekend.

How much water do you drink every day?
Almost none.  I am really bad about this.  I used to be really good about it, and if I got sick of water, I would at least drink Crystal Light so that I was still basically getting water.  I need to get back on track with this.

Wait, does Parrot Bay have water in it?

Mixing things up again…what DVD should we add to our summer viewing list?
I really liked that movie Spanglish, which I just saw recently.  But I would say that everyone should have the Chappelle Show DVD’s, both Season 1 and Season 2.  I am also a sucker for some of the tear-jerker Sandra Bullock movies, like “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood ” and “Hope Floats.”

Damn, I’m a Hottie!

I did this yesterday over at Dena’s and again today through Aurorealis.  You have to upload a picture of yourself, follow some quick instructions and then voila - you are instantly given three stars that closely resemble you based on your facial features.  Now yesterday, I was matched with Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Alicia Keys.  Today I was matched with Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Soleil Moon Frye.

So what have I learned?  That I am consistantly matched with Julia and Jennifer - so I am NOT complaining.  Now if I could only have their bodies!

Go on over and see who you look like, then come back and tell me the dirt!
