Saturday’s Sundries-04/08/06

A collection of thoughts and other stuff not worthy of a full post.

Today I spoke to a friend of mine from high school that I haven’t talked to in god knows how long.  It was good to catch up and she seems to be doing really well for herself.  Had you known either of us in high school, it is a miracle that we have made it this far!!!  We have made some plans to get together - for yoga, which will be a first for me, but hey, what girl couldn’t use a little more flexability…if you know what I mean!

Tomorrow is going to be a really windy day.  My husband and I are going to breakfast together in the morning, then buying the kids some kites and taking them to fly them.  It will be a really fun day, I’m sure.

I have made a lot of great friends online.  Two of which are Amy and Delane from “Life in Mayberry,” who I am convinced are the perfect couple and the perfect parents!  They will be coming up to Virginia Beach tomorrow and Dena and I plan to catch up with them for some dinner and fun!  I am very excited to meet them.  I just hope that after meeting me and my two heathens, they will continue to frequent my site.

I want to make sure that I note this weekend - the weekend of April 8th, because it is a good one.  A really good one!

Every Saturday I take Kaiden to dance class and every week I wait the hour in the lobby with the other mothers and every week it is freakin 108 degrees in there.  Can’t these people turn on some damn air conditioning or break out a fan or something.  It is pretty sad that we all find excuses to go to the grocery store next door week after week just to get a little air.  Last week I went for Froot Loops and tampons and before I could get to the register, three of the other mom’s were in the store to see if I needed help picking out the tampons.  Today, one mom went to get a card for a family member…I was real tempted to follow and see if she needed my card picking expertise!

I was able to snap a shot of Miss Joan’s license plate, you know the one mentioned previously... so for your viewing pleasure, here you go:

A Gift From A Friend

My friend Dena and her husband went to Las Vegas for a couple of days last week. Before she left, I asked her to bring me back a souvenir. Something special - and man did she come through with flying colors. She got me a one of a kind, medium point, black ink, ball-point pen, stolen straight from the registration desk at the Monte Carlo. I was so overwhelmed when she gave it to me that I did not know what to say. But now that I have had a couple days to let things settle and get my thoughts together, I would like to take a moment and thank the people that made me the kind of person that would have a friend so kind and generous.

I would like to thank my mother and father, for raising me to be caring of other people and to have such a great sense of humor. I would like to thank my sister and brother for teaching me the value of sharing and companionship. I would like to thank my children for teaching me how to put others in front of myself. And of course I would like to thank God, because without him, none of us would be here!

Thank you Dena, I love you!!!

Nice License Plate!

As I was driving out of the parking lot of Kaiden’s school (a church school, mind you) the other day, I noticed her teacher Miss Joan in her car.  I happened to glance at her license plate and it read: GDZ-BGR.

Now Miss Joan is very religious - but I do not see what “God’s Booger” has to do with anything in the Bible, or why you would want that on your license plate?  Someone should probably offer her a tissue!
