Straightening Sucks The Big One!
You guys may (or may not) remember this exact time, last year when I was complaining that I was shedding a lot, or two months after that when I was straight-up in panic mode because it became clear that it was not just shedding, but more-so that I was seriously losing my hair because of the medication(s) that the doctor had put me on for depression after Todd and I separated. Well it has been about ten months since I stopped all the medications cold-turkey and my hair stopped falling out. For the most part, I was extremely lucky, because even though I lost a tremendous amount of hair, it really was not all that noticeable. I never thinned enough that you could see my scalp and I never had any bald spots or anything - thank god my hair was so thick. Unless you came up behind me and grabbed my hair, you really would not have noticed.
Where is all this going? Well, it leads me to my current dilemma. I have naturally wavy hair when my hair is shorter. When it is longer, it does a pretty good job of straightening on it’s own. But, because of the hair loss, I have A LOT of hair regrowing that is like three inches long right now and wavy as hell, so it is making my hair look really shitty lately. I have had to resort to using a straightener to control it, until it gets long enough to do it on it’s own and I have to say - I HATE IT!!! It adds like twenty minutes to my routine and is a major inconvenience and pain in the ass. I cannot wait till all my hair is back to normal, although I have to say that the straightener makes my hair silky smooth and oh so beautiful, but it is still a pain in the ass! Arrrggghhh!!!
