Okay you are going to laugh your asses off at some of these, but these are truly the movies that stick out in my mind when I think back to my childhood. Some of these, my sister and I watched over and over, so enjoy…and then play along!
01. Clash of the Titans
The Greek myth of Perseus and Andromeda in a realistic presentation of ancient Greece, featuring an all-star cast of actors and many classic mythological creatures like the winged horse Pegasus and the deadly Medusa whose glance turns people to stone.
02. The Beastmaster
Dar, is the son of a king, who is hunted by a priest after his birth and grows up in another family. When he becomes a grown man his new father is murdered by savages and he discovers that he has the ability to communicate with the animals. After that, Dar begins his quest for revenge in this Conan-like movie.
03. The Princess Bride
When the lovely Buttercup is kidnapped by a ghastly gang intent on fermenting an international incident they find they are pursued by the Dread Pirate Roberts who just might be Westley, her one true love.
04. The Outsiders
Based on the novel of the same name. The story of young men growing up facing hard times where they have little going for them. Two opposing groups, the Greasers and the Socs, continually fight against each other and their “turf”.
05. The Elephant Man
Based on the true story of Joseph Merrick, a 19th-century Englishman afflicted with a disfiguring congenital disease. With the help of kindly Dr. Frederick Treves, Merrick attempts to regain the dignity he lost after years spent as a side-show freak.
06. Mommie Dearest
Based on the book about Joan Crawford, one of the great Hollywood actresses of our time, written by her adopted daughter Christina Crawford. Joan decides to adopt children of her own to fill a void in her life. Yet, her problems with alcohol, men, and the pressures of show business get in the way of her personal life, turning her into a mentally abusive wreck seen through the eyes of Christina and her brother Christopher, who unwillingly bare the burden of life that was unseen behind the closed doors of “The Most Beautiful House in Brentwood.”
07. The Last Unicorn
A brave unicorn and a magician fight an evil king who is obsessed with attempting to capture the world’s unicorns.
08. Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon
A young man searches for the “master” to obtain the final level of martial arts mastery known as the glow. Along the way he must fight an evil martial arts expert and an rescue a beautiful singer from an obsessed music promoter.
09. The Legend of Billie Jean
When you’re seventeen, people think they can do anything to you. Billie Jean is about to prove them wrong. The last thing she ever expected was to become a hero.
10. Xanadu
The Greek muses incarnate themselves on Earth to inspire men to achieve. One of them, incarnated as a girl named Kira, encounters an artist named Sonny Malone. With the help of Danny McGuire, a man Kira had inspired forty years earlier, Sonny builds a huge disco roller rink.
