What’s Your Chain?

Store Chains

In my last post, Judy left the following comment regarding the poop incident at the Eckerds - “That is just bizarre.  Also, bizarre is that you still have an Eckerds?” - Yes, we do and they seem to still be going strong, as the one I was in yesterday was just built!  This got me wondering what different store chains are in your neck of the woods.  Here is what is in mine:

Grocery Stores:
Farm Fresh
Food Lion (the store with the roar - HA!)
Harris Teeters
Kroger
Fresh Market
Whole Foods Market (coming soon)

Drug Stores:
Eckerd
Walgreens
Rite-Aid
Revco

All-In-One Stores (Or Whatever They Are Called):
Target
Walmart
Super Walmart
K-Mart
Super K-Mart

Convenience Stores:
7-11
WaWa

So what do you have near you?  If I left any our local peeps, let me know!

Who Took A Dump At Eckerd?

I ran out at lunchtime today to drop my check off at the bank, grab a side salad to eat with my Jenny Craig lunch and stop at Eckerd to get some Excedrin. Me and another woman were walking in at the same time and she stepped in what appeared to be a large pile of human crap. She was wearing flip flops and it got all over her feet. She immediately started to dry-heave and was really grossed out. One of the clerks heard what was going on and came out, and I explained to her what was going on. Everyone was completely disgusted. The clerk had to run and get paper towels and disinfectant.

Now, this is the kicker. This was a large amount of crap, so you can rule out that it fell out of a child’s pants. There was also no trail of it, it was all contained into one small pile - so that has to mean that some grown-ass human being dropped their drawers, squatted and took a dump in the main entry of Eckerd - in broad daylight!!! Who in the hell does that, and why did nobody see the person doing it? I asked the clerk if anyone had been in that morning with a dog, or child and she said no. She said she could honestly not figure out how it happened. Some people are really screwed up in the head!

MacGruber!

I have no idea why I think these skits from Saturday Night Live are so damn funny, but they crack me the heck up!  I always find myself with the stupid theme song stuck in my head for days and days -

“MacGruber! Making life saving inventions out of household materials.  MacGruber! Getting in and out of ultra sticky situations. MacGruber! The guy’s a freakin genius. MacGruber!!”

The TOOL Concert

TOOL Ticket

We had a really good time at the TOOL concert. We left the beach at about 2:15 on Thursday and headed to Richmond, which is normally an hour and a half drive, but we hit some really horrible traffic, so it took us a little over two hours to get there. When we got to our hotel, it was nicer than we expected. When we booked it, it was only $109 per night and when we walked in, it was like a mini apartment, with hardwood floors and a den and a hallway that led to a nice bathroom with a bidet (took Todd all of 3 minutes to completely soak the bathroom floor - HA) and a nice bedroom with a king size pillow-top mattress. I immediately called the front desk to confirm our quoted price, so that I was not surprised in the morning with a $300 bill - and it was confirmed, so I was giddy! See how pretty it was.

Hotel Room

We talked to my brother and figured out a place to meet up and have some cocktails, since it was only like 4:30 and the concert was not until 8:00. So we took off on foot and walked four blocks uphill to the Penny Lane Pub, where we racked up a nice little $100 bar tab and hung out with my brother, his girlfriend Ashley and some of their friends.

Penny Lane Pub

At about 8:00 we finally walked over to the Richmond Coliseum, where I met up with a friend of mine and where the boys were happy to see that they were serving beer for the event, so Todd quickly located an ATM to pull another $60 for more drinking. The opening band was this Japanese Punk band called “Melt-Banana” - and their sound was off, you could barely make out the vocals, plus it was an interesting choice of an opening act for TOOL. Then it was time for TOOL - and I have to say, the concert was amazing! They sound better live then on their albums. They played an unbelievable set and put on a really awesome laser light show. It was SO worth the trip to Richmond.  It was so neat to see how well those four men play together.

TOOL Concert

After the concert, my brother and his crew went home, and Todd and I walked back to Penny Lane Pub and took our spots at the bar, where I drank more cocktails and Todd polished off a bottle of Vodka and we racked up another almost $100 bar tab. Then we walked our drunk asses back to the hotel and hung out! HA! We got home at about 12:30 on Friday and were both very happy that we went and agreed that it was an amazing concert!

You can see the other pictures from the evening here and here is a clip of what the concert was like:
