Kaiden played in her very first tournament for 757 Field Hockey Club this weekend at the USA Field Hockey National Training Center.  She played amazing.  She did not score any goals, but all goals except one were a direct result of her bringing the ball up the field and crossing it in front of the goal.  Her coach told her she was the team's "play maker" which made her really happy.  I was so impressed by how many games and how long she played in the ABSOLUTE opressive heat.  She did not complain ONCE, just kept running and playing.  Unbelievable to me.

These particular turf fields had to be watered in between every single game.  The girls all LOVED this.  They could not wait for the sprinklers for come on so they could go running through them.  It was a great first tournament weekend for field hockey.  Now time to get geared up for our first soccer tournament, which is coming up in August in Fredericksburg, VA... the Washington Invitational.

Ashton is moving right along with his personal mission to grow his hair out.  Some days it is BIG and curly and completely out of control.  Some days it is curly and not so big and other days I have to either wet it and dry it straight or just flat out demand that he allow me to run my straightener through it.  HE HATES THAT, but I cannot stand how out of damn control it is.

I will say though... I am COMPLETELY impressed with his tenacity.  He has absolutely REFUSED to cut his hair.  He wants his hair long and that is that.  End of story.  His mind is made up and we are expected to accept that. For the most part we have... and honestly, I am now interested to see how this all plays out! We are in too far to give up now!

SIDENOTE: He is also now all in to tank tops. Weird obsession with wearing them now. I am not a huge fan of tank tops on guys, but he is now insisting that they are "so cool mom..." Every day I have to deal with him worrying about wearing a damn tank top.  Blech.

Kaiden's Sand Soccer Team, "Tate's Girls," named after their Coach, were featured in this morning's Beacon in the Virginia Pilot.  This is Kaiden's first appearance in a newspaper!  She was so excited when she found out that she was in the newspaper. Had to make sure to make a pit stop on my way into work this morning to buy a couple copies for her.  I am sure this will not be the last time we see her name in the paper!

Ashton is sick… he came home from school yesterday not feeling well.  Todd took duty yesterday, so I did not have to leave work.  We thought he was fine last night… even remarked that he should have gone to his baseball game.  At midnight he woke me up and said he was having nightmares… I went in and layed with him.  At 3am I woke up to gurgling noises and him sitting straight up in bed, by the time it registered what was going on and I could shove him out of the bed and towards the bathroom, he was puking all over his room.

One solid hour of scrubbing carpets, getting him cleaned up and setting both of us up on couch downstairs and we both went back to sleep, with him on towels and with a pot next to him.

He has not thrown up since, but I just went up to his room and there were three pairs of underwear on his floor… “Hey bud, why are all these underwear on your floor?”  “Oh about those, I have diarrhea real bad and I accidentally pooped some in all of those underwears…also, I accidentally used too much toilet paper and I cant flush the toilet or it will overflow… so yeah, you may want to fix that”  AWESOME!

Definitely a fun day.
