Lazy good for nothing Cleatus is too pitiful to even fix his own ear. Dang dog drives me absolutely batshit crazy and yet... we kind of like him. Such a jerk.

Ashton ran with his school this past weekend in the Shamrock Final Mile. Once again, he ran with the running club after school to prepare and log miles for race day.
He did a great job once again. I'm proud of him for wanting to do this on his own this year.

We had another long weekend of soccer. Our third tournament for the Spring 2013 season. This one was the Beach FC Spring Classic which was hosted by Beach FC at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex. The girls had four teams in their bracket.
Their first game they won against CSL Storm FC, 5-3. Second game they tied the Deleware Kirkwood Jaguars. Third game they won against the NC Capital Area Soccer Lightning, 2-0. Their last game they tied the Beach FC Red Independence, 2-2.
Kaiden played extremely well on Saturday and played well Sunday morning. She seemed like she checked out by game 2 on Sunday. She was not bad, but was not "on fire" like she was on Saturday. I am sure by game four she was completely exhausted. All the girls were upset that they took 2nd place, especially since they were in 1st place up until the very last 20 seconds of the last game. Had they held on 20 more seconds, they would have taken the bracket! Maybe next time!

Kaiden's team played in the Rush Cup this weekend. They played "okay" - they could have ALL played WAY HARDER, but they managed to make it to the semifinals. After two games on Saturday and a game Sunday morning, we played a team from the Outer Banks. IT WAS AN AWESOME and very stressful game. The girls kept the game tied until the end, then went through two rounds of overtime. Unfortunately the other team scored at the very end of the second overtime round and took it.
Above is what a very worn out, disappointed soccer player looks like. We have another tournament next weekend... hope it ends with a MUCH happier photo!

A friend of my mothers made both of my children beautiful quilts, out of the kindness of her heart... just because. They were amazing, big, bright, thick quilts, both of which had inscriptions sewn onto them along with each of the kid's names and the date. I truly was speechless that she had done this for them out of the blue. I am certain that each quilt took her no less than 40 to 50 hours of work. I asked the kids to sit down and each write her a little thank you letter to include in my thank you card to her. Both did so without any complaints and without any prompting from me. Kaiden's was sweet and stated how grateful she was and how pretty the quilt was. Ashton's letter made me chuckle, it was so damn cute...
I think I am going to start requiring Ashton to write me thank you notes every time I do something for him, just so that I can chuckle every time I get one.
