A collection of thoughts and other stuff not worthy of a full post.
- I have been fighting a cold since the middle of last week. When it started coming on, I immediately stocked up on Emergen-C and have been taking it like a mad woman. Although it has not kept me from getting the cold altogether, I can definitely tell that it has lessened the severity of it.
- The Steelers won on Saturday (VERY stressful game), which makes the Scanlon Clan happy. I watched it over at Nadine’s house while she did my hair for me. The Jets won on Sunday… which is also good, because that means the Steelers will get to play them next week at HOME, giving us home field advantage. They lost to the Jets back in December with home field advantage… lets hope this game is not a repeat.
- Today I am working on quitting some bad habits so that my good habits that I have worked so hard on can be better. I am not in a great mood. Not at all.
- Kaiden has been playing Indoor Soccer and is loving it. They have had two games and have won them both. She loves that they get to play off the walls. I wish we would have started this season a week earlier so that my sister could have come and watched her play while she was here.
- Nadine’s youngest FINALLY says my name (well almost… comes out like issy… but it is MY name dammit) and she finally acts like she likes me. This is a big deal for me, it was killing me that she would not acknowledge me. I guess it was my payback since Ashton did the same thing to Nadine… god he wanted nothing to do with her for the longest time and it KILLED her.
- I had to get my car serviced on Saturday… the 15,000 mile service appointment. One of the appointments that you HAVE to get or else you forfeit your free oil changes and warranty. It was not too bad money-wise, about $88, but they kept my car all day long. Thank god my friend Barry was visiting his parents nearby so he picked me up and I hung out with him while waiting on my car to be done.
- I eat Subway like it is my job - seriously I do. I go through stages, I don’t get something different every time I am there to mix it up. For EVER I ate ham and american… then one day I decided to try Buffalo Chicken. So for like the last year I have gotten Buffalo Chicken EVERY SINGLE TIME I went to Subway… which is MULTIPLE times a week. I am proud to announce, I have a new sandwich that I am digging… the Turkey BLT. And GOOD NEWS… it is still one of Subway’s healthy subs, even with the bacon! SCORE!
- This weekend, in between runs, haircuts, football games and car maintenance I got caught up on all my DVR’ed episodes of BONES. I LOVE that show. LOVE.
That’s all I got… but I will leave you with the SNL Digital Short from this past weekend, which cracked me up, because it starred Pee Wee Herman! “Ohhh… Hey Anderson…” Hahaha.

A collection of thoughts and other stuff not worthy of a full post.
- I have not been very good at journaling stuff lately. Not at all. I need to figure out how the hell to get back to it.
- My kids are in Rhode Island for the week with my parents and my sister. They drove up this past Saturday and will be home this upcoming Sunday. They are having a blast and I have the best family in the world for doing this for them during Spring Break while I work. What started as “Dad, can the kids come hang at the house some during Spring Break so I can save some money on daycare costs?” turned into an entire trip up the coast planned just for the two little monkeys, and flying my sister up from Florida to play with them too. My family rocks!!! I am missing my kids though.
- I never did blog about my birthday night. It was fun. There was a lot of drinking and not enough eating. My friends all came out… so did my brother who brought me my birthday card, which you can see here. It was almost as great as my dad’s, which you can see here (yes he stenciled my age on the card… and yes he used the word nipple in his write-up). It truly is the birthday cards that make the birthday in my family! The night ended in someone getting shot at a bar in the other end of the shopping center, and me seriously getting my car caught in the “Police DO NOT CROSS” tape while Dena and I tried to get to 7-11 to get our Go-Go Taquitos! What a night!!! Pictures from the evening are here.
- Ashton turned six. We had his birthday party at a park again this year with friends and family. He had a really good time.
- Todd broke his hand by dropping a boat battery on it back in February, crushing the bones underneath his pinky finger on his left hand (he is left handed). He had to have surgery and have a metal plate and some pins put in. After surgery it looked DISGUSTING and we have called him a slew of names - like Roy Munson from the movie KingPin and Frankenhand. All kidding aside though, he was in a lot of pain and everyone is glad he is okay.
- Conversations like this one on Facebook make me chuckle.
- And just because… this link made me smile, but then this link made me say WTF?

A collection of thoughts and other stuff not worthy of a full post.
- I have totally felt like I have had nothing of interest to write about on this blog lately, so I am writing a hodge podge post of a lot of nonsense.
- I have had ZERO time to work out lately and it is really starting to depress me. I spent the last week cutting carbs, since that is the one sure way I know that I can lose some weight without having to exercise… although I really need to exercise, as eating meat and cheese is expensive as shit.
- I am completely over rain. I mean BEYOND over it. This winter has had more rain than I can ever remember in past years.
- Alf is on twitter. This makes me smile. Alf was like my favorite show growing up. I had an Alf doll I slept with nightly. I also had a Lurky doll I slept with from Rainbow Brite.
- My friend Dena has been walking 6 miles a day and looks amazing. I am proud of her… and jealous!
- Ashton has had his front tooth dangling for weeks. It will not come out and is driving me insane - it looks ridiculous. I’m going to have to break down and take him to the dentist.
- Our dog Gilly is doing good. She has her moments and she has a serious farting problem, but she is settling in! Kaiden does wonderful with her.
That’s all I got!
