Look Who Took My Job…

Kelly

Recently I was moved out of the Tactical Division of my company back into the construction world and tasked with running a 95 million dollar contract that we won. So we needed someone to replace me in the tactical division.  Guess who needed a job?  KELLY!  So Kelly is now working with me.  She is doing a great job. Everything is running great, although getting used to the fact that she is a whistler has been a challenge!  surprise

Charleston Work Trip

Tuesday I had to fly to several Army bases on the east coast with my boss for some meetings to support the new contract we won with the Corps of Engineers. We took his teeny tiny plane, instead of a big, commercial, can't feel much of anything plane. It was my very first time in a plane like this. There were definitely pros and cons.

PROS: Very Convenient, FAST (time from parking car to being up in the air was 11 minutes), did I mention the convenience?
CONS: YOU FEEL EVERY LITTLE BUMP! Bad weather is scary. YOU FEEL EVERY LITTLE BUMP!

My boss flew us.  He has his pilot's license. We also had another pilot with us as well. Even though Shawn is able to fly, if we ran into weather beyond his experience, we had Doug to jump in and take over. We pay Doug a monthly salary, plus hourly fees, per diem and hotels.

Best part of the trip, hands down, was seeing the Historical District in Charleston, SC. It was absolutely gorgeous. Amazing old homes, buildings, etc. It was breathtaking. I would LOVE living there. I am sad that we had so many meetings planned and I was unable to see more of it.

Las Vegas | Shot Show 2013

The boys from work and I flew out to Las Vegas on Sunday, 01/13/13 for Shot Show 2013.  On Monday, we spent the day out at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Shooting Range for one of our client's Range Day, so that we could allow people to demo the rifle we distribute.  IT WAS FREEZING... in the 20's all day, with unbelievable wind.   Shot Show started Tuesday morning and ran every day through Friday and was so unbelievable.  It takes you that many days to even be able to walk the entire show - not including the many, many meetings we had set up with clients.

Tuesday night, our client Renegade hosted an open bar party in the VooDoo Lounge on top of the Rio Hotel - UNBELIEVABLE VIEW!  It was a lot of fun, and I am sure my co-workers will never view me the same.  Oh Well.  By day three I was exhausted.  Hungover, walking all day, dehydrated.  Just a mess.

I did learn how to play craps - and actually left the table UP!  Woot!  We ate at some good restaurants - Gordan Ramsey's Burgr, Emeril Lagassi's Table 10.  I also got to meet some celebrities... Stone Cold Steve Austin, Willy from Duck Dynasty.  Steven Segall was there as well as all the people from "Swamp People."

It was a fun trip, also tiring because it was actually work.  I was happy to be home at the end of the week.  Hopefully I will be invited back next year!  smiley

My Co-Workers Are Great

My co-workers do a REALLY good job of making me laugh ALL THE TIME.  Today was no exception… I received an email from my co-worker Rome earlier today.  It was sent to me, copied to a couple of my other co-workers and had the subject “tighten up bitch or this will happen to you!!!!!!”  It also had a picture in the message portion.  Now, only click the link below to see the picture if you are not squeamish in the least bit!!!

Well you made it.  I guess you are now wondering what part of this was funny and made me laugh.  Well it was the follow up email from my co-worker Jeff that was immediately sent back to all of us and simply stated “Looks like sandal weather somewhere!!!” - THAT… THAT got me laughing uncontrollably!!!  Holy hell… I am SICK, and so are my friends and co-workers!
